Hot dogs and Marshmellows cooked while it snows.

When I was younger and grew up in rural NS, one of the things I remember is cooking hot dogs over an camp fire at our cottage in the winter. Bundled up in winter coats, sitting around the fire while it snowed. Warm fire in the middle of winter. I currently have a fire pit and license , and often thought it would be nice to have a fire in the winter while it snows and cook some hot dogs for supper with marshmellow desert ;-) (Maybe it sounds nicer than it actually would be in reall life LOL but with the current bi-law I'll never know LOL) I was always curious the reasoning behind no fires in the winter months .. with snow all around there would be a less chance of fires spredding I'd think. We have had some very clear skys and full moons that would make an evening fire with a glass of wine very relaxing on a not too cold night.
